A little about myself…
I have been a resident of Olds since 2003 (relocated from Whitehorse, Yukon—originally from Manitoba). I graduated from Providence Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts degree in Counselling in April of 2009.
I also have a Bachelor of Arts degree (counselling focus) from Briercrest Bible College in Saskatchewan. My journey towards counselling began as a teenager; and my passion for people has spurred me on over the years leading me down varied paths. I am excited to see what’s down the road as people continue to cross my path seeking wellness and wholeness.
The Basics: Location, Fees, Scheduling, Process, Forms
Counselling services are available for individual, couples, and families. Temporarily, services are being provided in a classroom at Olds Nazarene Church. (5402-43rd St, Olds, Alberta)
Individual and couples’ counselling are offered at the introductory rate of $75 per session (usually an hour to an hour-and-a-half). Family counselling is offered at the rate of $95 per session. If you plan on using insurance benefits, I may have to write a letter to your company to request to be approved as a service provider as I am not a registered psychologist. If finances will be a problem, please call or email to discuss your options.
Daytime and evening appointments are available Monday to Friday. Sessions can be booked weekly, bi-weekly, or any other frequency of your choice.
Overview of process: The first session can sometimes feel a bit awkward as it involves information gathering (telling your story as we go over the intake form and family history); but the more information I have at the start, the better I can help you through the process. The next sessions involve the actual ‘work’ of dealing with the pressing issues. There is no preset number of sessions. Some people do really well with only 3 or 4 sessions, others need more time to work things out—which you get to decide as only you will know when you are satisfied with your progress and feel you can manage on your own.
